Battery space mount and weight balance
The battery is mounted perfectly in the center line of the car. In case of using a Shorty-pack, it can be moved to front or back to play with weight balance. Pieces of hard foam are supplied to do so and secure the battery in position. The carbon fibre battery-top-brace has a secure quick release system with handy twist nuts and acts as a chassis stiffener too. The flex can be influences by using 2 small grubscrews. Differential
The limited slip ball differential is a super compact, effective and durable unit. Utilizing 1.8th inch diff balls for ultimate durability. The structure and assembly is common type in this class, but the high quality parts and well functioning will make it stand out.

Slipper clutch
The durable slipperclutch uses a 3-pad system with long lasting pads, hard anodised aluminium parts and springsteel shaft. The pre-load nut can be easily reached and set.
Motor plate and motor guard
The motor plate is a machined aluminium; it is then anodized and machined for weight reduction.

Anti-roll bars
Anti-roll bars can be fitted on the front and rear of the car, are optional. They can be used on high grip surfaces to further adjust the cars performance

Rear Transmission case
The composite rear transmission case is light and durable. It securely holds the motor plate, differential as well as supports the rear wing mount and rear shock tower.

Rear driveshaft system, wheel-axles
The spring steel drive shafts are thin and light, yet durable. The spring steel wheel-axles are 5mm, light and durable, guided by the 2 different size of bearings, inner 10x14x4 mm and outer 5x13x4 mm. The driveshaft pin is fully captured to prevent any failure. These bearings are for sure to stand up the rigors of any track condition.

Rear suspension brackets and toe in
The 3mm spring steel pivot pins are held in place by the suspension bracket made from aluminum. Inside the bracket you use inserts to set toe-in and roll center. You can adjust the toe-in from 2 to 4 degrees and adjust the anti squat from 0 to 4 degrees.

Rear suspension arms
The long and durable rear suspension arms are very tough units to withstand the rigors of the track and the hard landings. The rear arm offers 2 options for shock position and two mounting locations for the rear anti-roll bar if needed.

Body shell and rear wing
The light and low cab-forward style body, made in top quality clear polycarbonate, has a nice flowing line, steep front windscreen for down force with indents in the section in front of the windscreen. The shark fin on the roof of the cabin offers not only style but stability. The smooth body lines enhance the cars appearance and do so in style
The polycarbonate rear wing utilizes raised cutes in the sides to improve wheel clearance.

Rear wing holder
The composite rear wing holder is connected to the rear bulkhead and shock tower. It is fully adjustable from 0,2,4,6 and 8 degrees. Its fixed into place by a washers and screws.

Ballbearings
High speed sealed stainless steel ballbearings with grease.

Fastners
Hard steel , mostly allen screws, roundhead and countersunk.
Wheels
Durable white nylon flat faced wheels, specifically designed to utilize the advancements in the front and rear suspension geometry.

Steering system and Ackermann
The steering system has a reverse swinging pivot system that optimizes the efficiency through all different types of corners. You have 3 Ackermann choices.

Wheel-axles and wheel hex.
The spring steel wheel-axles utilized 12mm hex adapter to follow current market standards. The front springs steel axle is fixed, while the rear wheel-hex is a clamping aluminum version.

Steering Block and Rear Upright
The steering blocks fit 5x10x4 mm bearings. The rear hub uprights use a larger 5x14x4 outer bearing and 10x15x4 mm inner for ultimate lasting performance. The steering blocks and rear uprights utilize some of the best high strength materials on the market today.

Upright Settings
The rear uprights allow you to adjust, the toe in from -2 to + 2 degrees by use of various inserts also included in the kit.

The SRX2 MH kit is basically a 2 in 1 car, as Serpent offers 2 type of transmission in the kit to choose from.
1 x 3-gear upright transmission for low to medium traction = LMT
1 x 3-gear laydown transmission for medium to high traction = MHT

The Spyder SRX2 LMT ( low ?medium traction) will perform best at low grip and medium traction tracks like grass, sand and clay. ( For super low traction Serpent offers the Spyder SRX2 Rear Motor kit).

The Spyder SRX2 MHT ( medium ?high-traction) will perform best at medium to high traction tracks like carpet, astro and high grip clay.

Spyder SRx2-MH Features

Chassis
Coated and laser engraved 7075 T6 aluminum chassis plate with a layout allowing for a perfect weight balance, and optimal space for the electronics, battery and servo. The aluminium front kick-up plate is separate and angled for more clearance for racing and allow for better nose landings. ( the separate kick-up plate allows you to also mount the optional carbon chassisplate).

Transmission
The SRX2 MH kit is basically a 2 in 1 car, as Serpent offers 2 type of transmission in the kit to choose from.
1 x 3-gear upright transmission for low to medium traction = LMT
1 x 3-gear laydown transmission for medium to high traction = MHT
Serpent offers some upgrade sets to fit a 4 gear upright transmission system, or a 4 gear laydown transmission as well.

Shocktowers
Composite front and rear shock towers. The shock towers have multiple shock angle positions allowing drivers to fine-tune for varying track conditions. The optional carbon versions allow for some extra stiffness to help with overall grip.

Shock absorbers
Dual system 12mm big bore shocks with hardcoated threaded bodies, a unique cap design, a superbly sealing o-ring and spacer package. The shocks can be used in bladder or emulsion setups. The shock-set comes with a set of moulded pistons to choose from. A selection of 5 springs-sets is available to fine-tune the suspension settings. Shock collars with inner o-rings are used on the threaded bodies to set-ride height.

Front upper bulkhead
The front upper bulkhead is strong and supports the upper links and shock tower in the best possible way. The front section offers the option to mount a front wing and sway bar unit

Front wishbones
The wishbones are made from a super strong composite material. The gullwing arms to optimize the CG and pivot on 3mm captured pins on the inside and out. The arms have 2 mounting positions for shock angle and are prepared to use an optional anti-roll bar if needed.

Front and Rear Track Rods
Spring steel front and rear track rods are mounted to durable composite captured ball joints. The trackRods have L/R threading for easy adjustments.

Castor blocks and settings
Caster block inserts come as 0, 2.5 and 5 degree version all of which are included. The caster blocks are very compact and strong units made from a special composite material.

A brandnew Serpent 1/10 scale shaftdrive 4wd buggy in a very clean, simple and open design. Designed to perform on all surfaces with versatile layouts in which motor, battery and speedo can be mounted in a variety of locations. Highly accessible for maintenance and set-up, with a minimal number of screws and screw types.

Rear suspension
Strong composite lower suspension arms with mounting spots for the pivotball activated anti-roll bar. The arms are a closed type design for aero effect, rigidity and clean looks. On the upper side optional carbon inserts can be applied in case harder arms are needed for handling. Composite insertplates are standard.
The rear arms have 2 shock mounting positions on each side front and rear. The front and rear shockmounting positions are different and the arms can be used on both sides of the car, so you have 4 shock angle positions to choose form.
The rear arms allow to mount the shocks also in the rear of the car

Suspension arms pivot balls
Instead of inner pivot pins the SDX4 uses small pivotballs which thread inside the arm. The suspension brackets are machined to adapt the pivotballs and create a low friction, no binding suspension. By turning the pivotballs in or out you can set the optimal play between the front and rear bracket.
Suspension brackets
Hard coated aluminum suspension brackets fr fr and fr rr. Small but effective composite front bumper to protect the front end. The angled front built in kick up allows for smoother landings.
The rear rear suspension bracket can be used standard with o-degree or upside down as 3-degree anti-squat.

Bulkheads
The strong front diff case assembly based on 2 durable 7075 T6 bulkheads is a very strong affair to mount the diff-housings, front shock tower and chassis too. Its also features the holders for the ballraced anti-rollbarmounts.
Anti-roll bar
Both the front and rear arms and bulkheads allow mounting the ball-raced anti-roll bars. The wire type anti-roll bars are lasered for easy indentification. The wire connect to the arms with the proven friction free supersmooth pivotball system. Its very easy to access and change the anti-roll bars as needed.

Motor mount
The motor is mounted securely to the thick 3mm cnc machined 7075 T6 alu motor plate. The motor is mounted to the sliderplate, which is then easily slotted in position.
Center drive holders
The slipper clutch unit is hold in place by the motormount bracket and a H shaped lightened 7075 T6 aluminium holder topped by a carbon connector plate that also holds the cable guiders in place.
The slipper can also be replaced by a geardiff in the center. Its supereasy to access the slipper or central geardiff.
Uprights
The lightened 7075 T6 aluminium uprights are same left and right and feature 3 camberlink positions.

Wheelhex
The front and rear wheel hex are 12mm industry standard size. The hexes are clamp type and anodised to last. Flanged wheelnuts are included to keep the wheels in place.

Body mounts
The strong composite body mounts are easily located in case used. As alternative velcro can be added to the side of the chassis stiffeners/side bars.
Body
Top quality clear polycarbonate is used for the Spyder SRX4 buggybody . The nicely shaped body has flat sides and roof for extra downforce and great handling. It leaves enough space for electronics and cooling finds as needed. The body closely follows the chassis shape, so less debris can enter the car. The body comes with a white precut masking sheet.
Rear wing and wing holder
The strong clear polycarbonate wing is mounted to the nylon rear wing holder.

Rims
Durable Serpent designed wheel are included in white color for front and rear (tires and inserts are not included). Rear wheels are same as SRX2 and SRX4, the front ones have a different offset and are new. Compliant to the latest IFMAR rules.

Manual / setup sheet / decals
The Spyder SDX4 comes with a PDF style full color manual on a Serpent USB stick which shows the assembly process in steps following the packed bags. The manual also encloses the exploded views and a ref-guide to make it easy to find the part numbers you may need of spares and optional parts. A latest version of the manual can always be found on our website as PDF too.
A default set-up sheet is included, but more set-ups can be found on our product page under set-ups.
A Spyder SDX4 decal sheet and a Serpent decal sheet are included.

Packing
The strong kit box includes the coded bags to assemble the car, as well as the body, rear wing and wheels, manual, set-up sheet and decals. Each kit is carefully packed and a checking decal can be found on the side of the box.

Steering blocks and c-hubs
The lightweight composite steeringblocks are combined with aluminium 7075 T6 c-hubs. The c-hubs has 2 positions for rollcenter, and can be further finetuned by using more or less shims. The c-hubs are 5 degree, other optional ones are 0 and 3 degree.
Steering
The fully ball raced angled dual axis steering system with integrated servo saver function, offers an almost perfect Ackermann effect. Ackermann can be set with small plates which mount to the steering arms and the black cotaed aluminium steeringbrace has 2 holes to choose from. The servosaver has a pre-load nut to easily set the desired tension.
The steeringsystem is mounted on a carbon fibre u-bracket which also connects the front left and right sides and acts stiffener.

Main features

Chassis
The hardcoated lightweight 2mm 7075 T6 aluminium chassis has the right flex combined with the composite side-guards / chassis stiffeners and center spline. All holes are countersunk to have a fully flat bottom surface. Holes are centered and symmetrical for even flex.
Chassis stiffener
In the rear the SDX4 features a carbon fibre chassis stiffener which is clamped between the rr fr suspension bracket and the bulkhead and extends to the center. The brace has 5 optional holes to choose the stiffness by placing the small stiffener pole and screw or even adding more poles/screws.
The system influences rear end flex and is set depending on grip levels and driving style.
Battery and stays
The SDX4 car accepts a shorty in standard trim, but you can also mounts saddle packs as needed. The battery is kept in place by an easy to use composite battery-cover with a twistnut on one side.
Electronics
The center of the car allows plenty of space to mount the most popular speedo and receivers, as well as the transponder. The car also allows enough space to enable nice routing of your cables. On the side of the slipper the SDx4 offers 2 special cable guiders.

Layouts to choose from
– Default is shorty battery rear right, motor rear left, speedo/RX front left , servo front right
– Motor more to the center ( and swap front and rear central driveshafts)
– Shorty left and motor right
– Motor front left and esc rear left
– Motor front left and saddle packs in rear ( needs optional saddle pack battery brace-set)
Servo mount
The servo is mounted in the car with a stand made from alu and carbon parts, and is mounted on the centerline in the car, to keep even flex. Various spacers and horns are included to suit the most popular servo brands. An optional part also allows the servo to be moved under the steering plate and driveshaft. Maximum choice of layouts.

Drivetrain
The SDX4 uses lightweight springsteel univeral driveshafts front and rear and central universals too.
Gear-diffs and cases
The 2 compact oil-filled gear differentials front and rear. These super smooth units are light and compact and very durable. The differentials are also very easy to build and are very low maintenance.
Both the outer differential cases ( front and rear) are clamped between the aluminium bulkheads and require no other fasteners at all. Super simple and fast for maintenance.
Differential main gear and bevel gear.
The precision machined straight cut differential main gear and bevel gear are made in hardened springsteel for smooth operation.

Balljoints / trackrods
New style and material balljoints for smooth suspensions and steering. The outer steering balljoints are angled to clear all rims/tyres . The trackrods and camberlinks are made in thin but durable springsteel with L/R threading for easy adjustment.

Shocks
Serpent hard coated shock bodies and composite shock tops for super smooth operation and durability. 3.2mm shafts with new pre-oiled X-ring package and molded pistons. The shocks can be used either emulsion or membrane configuration. The shock springs have grounded ends, checked and matched for perfect equal operation. Ride height can be easy set with the threaded collars which have o-rings inside to stay in position.

Shock towers
Very durable 4mm thick carbon fiber front and rear shock towers with 3 positions for shock angle. For roll center adjustment the front bracket features 6 holes to chose camberlink positions. 3 inner and 3 outer. The rear one has 8, 4 inner and 4 outer.
Shock stays
Very durable aluminum shock stays combined with a small bushing and lightweight composite flanged nuts.
Slipper clutch
This light slipper-clutch unit, is a spring loaded 3 pad version, allows to control the power distribution.
